In 2005, Pingtung participated in our Sister Cities Festival during which the Sun Yat Park was dedicated to Pingtung. This upcoming visit brings an extra thank you and a plaque acknowledges our mutual respect and thanks. Maui's Chinese Culture Club will be on hand to help with the festivities, run by Warren Lui, the Maui Sister Cities new chairperson.
We welcomed the 8 member delegation from Taiwan: Alexander Chang, Elizabeth Hsu (both of whom were present for the 2008 visit), Douglas Chang, Catherine Chang, J.C. Chang, Delia Lai, Chiu Yi Hua, and Hung Cheng-Sheng.
